Where can I buy MediHerb supplements?
In the United States, you can only buy MediHerb through a health care practitioner with a Standard Process account (like Snow Holistic Health). You can order any MediHerb product on this site without opening an account of your own.
A few things that may trip people up:
- MediHerb has no direct-to-consumer store in the US. The mediherb.com site you'll find on Google is the Australian company's site. It doesn't sell to US consumers.
- Standard Process doesn't sell to the public either. Their site lists products, but checkout requires a practitioner. That's why nearly every "buy MediHerb online" result is a clinic's website, like this one.
- Marketplace listings are a gamble. Amazon and eBay sellers aren't authorized. You can't tell how old the bottle is, whether it sat in a hot warehouse, or whether it's even real.
Ordering on our site gets you the same product a practitioner can hand you across the front desk, shipped in 1 to 2 business days, and shipped free for orders over $75.

Do I need a prescription or a practitioner to buy MediHerb?
You don't need a prescription. You do have to buy through an authorized practitioner, though, and ordering from this site counts.
MediHerb products are dietary supplements, so there's nothing to prescribe. The practitioner rule is a distribution choice by Standard Process, not a legal one. They'd rather a doctor or pharmacist be somewhere in the picture, even if it's just the clinic you're buying from.
For most people, that's a formality. If you know what you want, you can add it to the cart and be done.
If you're new to herbs, or you're already taking prescription medication(s), a little guidance is absolutely worth having. Is MediHerb the same company as Standard Process?
No. MediHerb is an Australian company owned by Integria Healthcare. Standard Process is a family-owned company in Palmyra, Wisconsin, and is MediHerb's exclusive US distributor.
The two have worked together for more than 20 years, and in 2020 they signed a 10-year agreement that runs through 2030. So the partnership is stable, and they have the same commitment to quality, but they make different things.
Standard Process makes whole food supplements: concentrated foods, glandulars, and vitamins grown mostly on their own organic farm. MediHerb makes herbal extracts. In our clinic, a protocol often uses both. Our post on MediHerb Thyroid Complex vs. Standard Process Thytrophin PMG is a good example of how the two get paired.

Is MediHerb a good brand?
Yes! MediHerb has been practitioner-only since 1986, extracts its herbs without heat or chemical solvents, tests every batch 5 times, and has supported more than 20 clinical trials on its own formulas.
Here's why that matters: Herbs are the easiest supplement category to fake. A "turmeric" capsule can be mostly filler, the wrong species, or extracted so aggressively that the active compounds are gone. Cheap herbs are cheap for a reason.
MediHerb's answer is a 7-day cold percolation process, DNA identification of the raw plant, and testing for potency and contaminants before anything ships. Kerry Bone, who co-founded the company, still runs research and development and has co-authored more than 40 scientific papers on herbs.
None of that guarantees a specific product will do what you hope. That depends on why you're taking it and whether it's the right herb for the job. If you're not sure, ask Dr. Snow before you buy.

Are MediHerb supplements safe? Do they have side effects?
MediHerb products are made in GMP-certified facilities and tested for identity, potency, and contaminants. Most people take them without any issues, but herbs include active compounds, and some interact with medication.
Here are the ones to watch:
Start at the dose on the label. If you take any prescription medication, run it past your doctor or pharmacist first. Dr. Katie Snow is a Pharm.D., so if you'd rather ask us, book a quick call.

Is MediHerb FDA approved?
No supplement is FDA approved. The FDA doesn't approve dietary supplements before they're sold, the way it does with drugs.
What the FDA does regulate is how supplements are made. Manufacturers have to follow current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and the FDA can inspect them and pull products that fail. MediHerb manufactures under certified GMP in Australia, and Standard Process, the US distributor, runs its own FDA-registered facilities.
So "FDA approved" is the wrong question for any supplement. The better one is whether the company tests what it sells. MediHerb tests 5 times between the raw herb and the finished bottle. More on how MediHerb makes its herbs above.
What makes Standard Process different from other supplements?
The biggest difference is that Standard Process grows most of its own ingredients and uses whole foods instead of relying only on synthetic isolated vitamins. Very few brands can say that.
Three things set it apart in practice:
- Whole food-based. Nutrients from Standard Process supplements come in a form your body recognizes, with the natural compounds that travel with them in food.
- Farm to bottle. Over 75% of their supplement ingredients come from their own certified organic farm, harvested at their peak and processed immediately, on site.
- Practitioner trusted. These are the formulas clinics usually use with patients, not shelf products chosen for their packaging.
Are these the same products my practitioner uses?
Yes. Everything on this page and everything marked "Standard Process" on this website is genuine Standard Process product, bought through our authorized account and shipped straight to you. This product is the same product line practitioners use in their clinics.
Because we're an authorized seller, there's no gray-market question. You are getting current (not old or expired), properly stored (not left in the sun or near other heat sources) product, not a mystery bottle from a third-party seller. If your practitioner recommended a specific formula, you can reorder it here with confidence that it's the real thing.
Does Standard Process make supplements for dogs and cats?
Yes. Standard Process has a full line of whole food supplements made specifically for pets, with separate formulas for dogs and cats. They're built for animals, not just smaller versions of human products.
The canine formulas blend animal- and plant-based ingredients to support several body systems, since dogs are omnivores whose needs change with age and activity. The feline line supports everyday digestion, immune function, and joint health in cats. Both lines come from the same certified organic farm and the same quality standards as the human line. These pet products support normal health and aren't meant to treat or cure disease.

What is the Standard Process 21-Day Cleanse?
The Standard Process 21-Day Cleanse, also called the Purification Program, is a whole-food-based program that supports your body's natural detoxification systems over about three weeks. It combines specific whole-food supplements with a real-food eating plan.
Here are a few things people usually want to know about before starting:
- It's food plus supplements, not starvation. You eat real food the whole way through. The program supports your body's own detox system rather than forcing anything.
- Support helps. Most people do best with a practitioner walking them through it, especially the first time they do it.
- Think of it as a reset. It's a way to rebuild good habits and feel more like yourself. It isn't a treatment for any medical condition.
