Gut Still a Mess? The Candida Biofilm Problem No One Talks About

, by Sara McKinney

Video Transcript

If you've cut sugar, carbs, even started probiotics and different supplements, and even cleansing diets, yet you still feel tired, bloated, itchy, and foggy, you're not imagining it. There is a hidden reason why people can't get rid of candida overgrowth even though they're doing everything right. Today, I'm going to show you why the candida overgrowth keeps coming back and the one step nobody talks about that actually works.

I'm Dr. Eric Snow, functional medicine practitioner and founder of Snow Holistic Health. I help people rebuild their gut, detox safely, and get to the root cause of their symptoms naturally. Let's get to the hidden candida fix.

Sugar does feed candida, but here's the part that most people don't realize: candida doesn't just die just because you stop feeding it. When you starve candida, it actually becomes more aggressive, digging deeper into the gut, forming biofilms and triggering inflammation that makes bloating and symptoms worse.

So, if you've removed sugar, and you're still feeling lousy, your body is not failing you, your system or approach just needs another strategy. Candida protects itself with something called a biofilm, a sticky film made of sugar and proteins. This shell blocks herbs, probiotics, antifungals, and even medications, which means your supplements aren't even actually reaching the candida.

The hidden fix is this: you have to break down the biofilms. Some of the most effective natural biofilm disruptors include oregano oil, garlic extract, berberine, caprylic acid, and enzyme blends to break up the biofilm. When you break down the biofilms, the candida actually gets exposed so now your herbs and different medications can work.

When candida finally breaks down, it releases something called mycotoxins, which can temporarily make all your symptoms worse. This can include bloating getting worse, flare-ups, fatigue, and even skin eruptions.

This is called a die-off reaction and is usually a sign that your new protocol is actually working. To manage this, you want to support your detox pathways. Things to consider are staying hydrated, sweating regularly, support your liver, and use binders if needed.

The final step is rebuilding your gut. Once candida is reduced, you must rebuild your gut or it can come back. So you want to rebuild your gut by adding things like high-quality probiotic, gut-healing nutrients like L-glutamine, aloe, and even zinc, fiber from whole foods, minerals, and electrolytes. This is where long-term healing happens.
